Homework Tips
Space
Find a place where you can always do your homework. It's best if this place is relatively quiet, somewhere you can work without being distracted, and has resources available to complete assignments. If you have trouble finding such a space like this at home, consider places like the public library, or using your SRT time effectively as a homework space.
Time
This can be tricky if you have a fluctuating schedule, but try to set aside a certain amount of time in a certain part of the day to complete homework. This could be as specific as 30 minutes a day at 4pm for math, or as general as at least 1 assignment's worth completed before dinner. Sticking to a schedule will help you stay on track.
And Beyond
The more you put your homework off, the harder it will be to catch up with the work. If you are having trouble you can ALWAYS ask for help on assignments, just make sure you do it at a time other than the 5 minutes before it's due. There are so many resources available to you in math: the internet, your math teacher, other math teachers, other students, and more.

Help Now Resources
Many of the resources on this page are found in other places throughout the site, but this is a collection of materials for all math classes with Miss Schwartz.
Videos and Tutorials
If you are really stuck, make a post here. Try to pop in and answer questions when you can for other students. This is a blog for ALL algebra students so that you can help each other (students who post often in helpful response to others may be eligible for additional extra credit).
Videos and Tutorials
- Khan Academy: has a wide range of videos in many subjects (including math!)
- Free Math Help: only the text lessons are free, but they are comprehensive and have nice examples
- Purple Math: tons of mini lessons on just about every possible algebra topic
- Rose-Hulman: a homework hotline (online and phone components)
- NOTE - Don't sign up for anything that will give you answers to your algebra problems. They generally cost money and don't do a great job of showing enough work (also, using such a program would be cheating). Save yourself time and money and ask questions through the homework blog or the last resort.
